The restaurant itself is really cute. The food was great. I highly recommend the pancakes and the home fries. The people were super nice. I will definitely stop back in next time I'm in town.

This restaurant is amazing, probably the best restaurant in Idaho springs, huge portions great pricing, bread freshly made, don't waste your money at Tommy knocker they have bad food and horrible prices, skip Bo jeau's also go to this local gem for an amazing meal

We decided to stop in for breakfast on our way back from camping. It's a little place on the - you guessed it- main street of Idaho Springs, just across from Beau Jo's. It was pretty busy when we came in so although it said to seat yourselves, apparently they didn't really mean it because when we sat down, we were told there was a wait. Ah well. We didn't really have to wait too long. The food was OK. I had the Greek Omelet that was loaded with the promised ingredients of spinach, tomatoes, feta, and olives. Hubs had the Cajun benedict on a homemade biscuit and he said it was good. We both had the side of home fries (our server said they were better than the hashbrowns) but they weren't very good and they covered half of the plate. It was basically a baked potato cut into cubes- not very crispy and no flavor. Service took a really long time. The 2 tables that sat down the same time we did were both done eating by the time we got our food. Perhaps they aren't accustomed to being full, but it was a Sunday around 10:30 so I imagine that it must be typical traffic. It filled our bellies but if we're making an I-70 stop in the future, we will probably check out a different place.

A group of friends and I were on our night off from the summer camp where we work and we had to be back somewhere at a very specific time. We decided we would go to Main Street, seeing as it's one of relatively few restaurants in central Idaho Springs. We walked in without being acknowledged and seated ourselves. No one brought us menus or recognized that we were there. After about fifteen minutes sitting there, the man working, who appeared to be under the influence, finally asked us what we wanted to drink. He got our waters, rudely placed them on the table, and walked back behind the bar. After another 20 minutes, he still hadn't taken our order, so one of us went up to the bar and politely asked him if he could take our order because we were on a time crunch. He replied "I'm sorry, but I really don't give a shit about your time crunch. These other people have been waiting longer than you and I bet they're on a time crunch too." We all promptly walked out of the restaurant as he sarcastically yelled to have a nice night and everyone in the restaurant stared at us. We will not try to eat here again.

HANDS DOWN FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN IDAHO SPRINGS! Don't get me wrong, piccis, and the bbq place are awesome, let's not forget beau jos, but something about this diner will have me coming back for sure. My girlfriend and I wanted pancakes at 830pm on a Sunday, btw it was my girlfriend's bday (we went out on Saturday to celebrate). We found main st on yelp so we gave it a chance. Our waitress, Mishelley (butchered spelling) was so nice. Food was great remember-its 830pm on a Sunday, they close at 9. We drank whiskey, watched the world series, and ate homemade biscuits and gravy, and pancakes with bacon. MY VERSION OF HEAVEN ON EARTH. MUST TRY!

Love this place! I've never been disappointed in 3 years. I only manage to get in every few months anymore, but they still remember my name and ordering preferences. Food is great for a fun meal, the people and service is even better! Best Bloody Mary I've had hands down.

What a nice little surprise in Idaho Springs! Last weekend I rolled into town not expecting much, but famished from a night of camping and was delighted to see a quaint little café in the middle of town. Upon checking my Yelp app to make sure no terrible review was made I went in and had a fantastic breakfast. We had 7 people which did pose somewhat of a problem, since the area is a little cramped, but we made it work and had a great meal. The Western Omelet I had was cooked to perfection had ample fillings and was accompanied by some delicious hash browns. I noticed the establishment claimed to have the best Bloody's in town and as an avid drinker I needed to see for myself. Not bad, not the best ever though! Overall, this place is a good stop for anyone looking for a good ole fashion country breakfast. I would highly recommend a stop in and will be planning to go back!

Think in your mind what you picture a Main Street cafe in a small mountain town. Now drive over to Main Street Restaurant in Idaho Springs and see how close this place is to what you pictured. For me it was. This place is full of cozy wooden booths and the smell of fresh bread. They actually make several varieties themselves here including a really excellent banana nut bread. Surprisingly, this Main Street Restaurant also has a bar with what looked like excellent breakfast cocktails. The food was really good. My eggs Benedict had apple infused pork loin instead of regular ham and it was quite delicious with perfectly poached eggs and soft, homemade English muffins. If your meal doesn't come with a side of toast, I recommend getting on anyway. The aforementioned banana nut is great but so is the cinnamon with layers of cinnamony goodness baked into the bread kind of like a cinnamon roll in bread form. The service was quick and attentive. We had a discount car from a local hotel and the server took it without any complaints. So next time you picture yourself in a nice little mountain cafe, drive yourself up to Idaho Springs and experience it.

Came with a big group, I wasn't too hungry so I tried to order coffee cake, listed as $2.50 on menu, but they were out. Got a different cake instead and it ended costing $6!! Ripoff.

I'm hesitant to write this review in fear that the word will get out... We stopped here on a Sunday when Idaho Springs was pure madness. Tourists, weekenders back from the mountains, bikers, hikers, campers, JCPenny models, midgets, clowns, etc... you get the idea. Beau Jo's looked like there was a 9-hour wait just to put your name in. We tried Tommy Knocker and there was an hour wait so we landed at Main Street Restaurant. The place was small and clean with a great layout and nice ambiance. They have booths! The service was friendly and attentive. The menu was big and kind of upscale diner-like. You can get breakfast all day! We got sandwiches, bloody mary's and a bowl of green chili. Everything was really good. Here's a few magical aspects of MSR: They bake all of their own bread and you can take a loaf home. An entire page of their menu is devoted to benedicts. It's not Beau Jo's. Idaho Springs needed a place like this.

I had several a la carte items. Poached egg was good. Cinnamon toast was just ok. The fruit was nice, except the banana which was rotten. Or at least very over ripe. No offer to replace it when I told the waiter. Just an ok spot.

I have been on a decade long quest to find the best poached eggs. I have endured countless failures even sending the eggs back. The quest is over! Main Street Restaurant exceeded expectations. Truly the best Eggs Benedict ever! The corn beef hash is also out of this world!

What distinquishes the Main Street Restaurant is that their menu boasts some dishes that sound upscale and interesting. For example, not a lot of old time mountain restaurants boast things like "Cajun Eggs Benedict" served with andouille sausage. What, unfortunately, is the case, is that the dishes sound better than they taste. My regular old Eggs Benedict were served over cardboard-tasting muffins and generic ham. I'd asked for my potatoes on the more well done side, so they complied by deep frying them. Hmmmmm. And the hollandaise sauce was alright, but nothing special. My sweetheart's standard 2 eggs with sausage and homefries breakfast was just that . . . standard (except for the sausage which was not to her taste and which therefore beefed up my Benedict). So as for Idaho Springs, the Main Street Restaurant may rival what's available as the best breakfast in town. But that's really not saying much at all.

Traffic was terrible on the highway so ended up stopping in Idaho Springs. Dropped in here for a late lunch. Once we got the menus had to drag down the waiter to take our order and again to get some water. One person got a reuben which was pretty good and the other got a cheeseburger. Burger was pretty good though dry - but the fries were not cooked through and were sent back. 7 fries returned properly cooked...but really 7 fries? So you get an average for service and and food...

Stopped in here for lunch, and glad we did! The waitress was friendly, but she was not sure what was going on, but she asked the cooks and got all the answers. The accommodated my allergies and I truly enjoyed the French dip, my husband loved his philly cheese skate. Would eat there again!

stopped for lunch on way to Breckenridge. Excellent decision to choose Main Street!! The Brazilian salad FRESH, plentiful w/a variety of fresh vegetables - yes i wound order again. Hub enjoyed hash eggs w/10 star hollandaise sauce Benedict on a homemade English muffin which was delicious but really it was a biscuit - over all he gives 4 star - GREAT greeter and wait gal!!

Very friendly staff and the food was pretty excellent for a small town restaurant. Would definitely recommend for any other tourists looking for dinner. Got an 8oz sirloin and it was pretty good. Only negative was that the restaurant was pretty small.

Arrived for dinner around 6. Immediately greeted by the bartender/server. We ordered one breakfast combo and a patty melt. Both came quickly and well prepared. They serve breakfast all day which is a nice option. Nice on the budget too.

I didn't stop in for the food I was only getting a cup of coffee to-go so I can only comment on the quality of the latte. What I can say is that if the quality of the food is as good as the latte then they should be good to go. The latte was quite flavorful and smooth, unlike most other coffee spots. I will definitely stop by next time I am on the way to the mountains.

After spending most of the day at Mt Evans we stopped here for a late lunch. The inside is small, but we had no problem getting a table. I loved the fact that they make their own bread, we got a Caesar salad to share and it was delicious with a side of the honey wheat bread. My boyfriend ordered fried chicken with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, it came with a homemade English muffin. I ordered the Main Street Benedict with home fries. The hollandaise came with chunks of lobster, and was perfectly creamy. The English muffin was perfectly crisp and not soggy. The only fault I could name was the egg- the yolk was pretty much cooked, I like my egg runny. This was a great deal of food compared to the price and was perfect when you're hungry after a hike.

We were in a rush to the airport, and were looking for a place that still served breakfast late. (It was 11am). This place hit the spot! Staff was friendly, food was delicious. The banana bread French toast was amazing! They make their own bread each day, I think there were 10 different varieties. The prices were reasonable and overall we were impressed. Definitely worth stopping by.

This is clearly a case of Yelp rigging: the service is glacial, we waited 45 minutes for our food (simple burgers and fries) and then it arrived all overcooked. Avoid this place. I'm sure there are other lovely restaurants you can support in this cute town.

This is our 2nd time at the Mainstreet. It's been exceptional each time. This time we had the Country scrambler ( yummmm best sausage gravy and biscuits) and made my own omlet, fresh tasty ingredients, high quality, local chorizo, whipped up to order. Awesome staff as well. Owner was seated near us, and the waitress was friendly and very attentive. Can't wait to come back and try their good looking burgers. For being a mountain town small restaurant very reasonably priced

Great food, extremely laid back. Kind workers. My kids had a grilled cheese, my husband had the chicken, I had the BLT. We also had the sample appetizer. All were great. My favorites were fried green beans & the kale. It was yum.

What a great find, halfway between the ski mountains and Denver airport. Run by exceedingly friendly folks who take pride in their food and their service, Main St. Restaurant is the kind of homey eatery travelers dream of when they pull off the highway. All our food, from the omelet to the french toast to the chili, were fresh and delicious. Portions were huge. Most impressive was their toast made from homemade bread, which is a real find in any restaurant. We have found our new stopover when in the area.

My mom and I ate here on our way through Idaho Springs. We had burgers and fries and it was pretty good. My burger really wasn't the greatest, but my mom's sweet potatoe fries were fantastic. And I dont normally even like sweet potatoe fries! It seemed like there was only one waitress who was waiting all the tables plus the bar. So service was a little slow, but it wasn't her fault and she did very well for trying to take care of the whole place by herself.

Wife and I had lunch today at Main Street Restaurant. She had minestrone soup with sausage and I had a burger without the bun with grilled onions and mushrooms on top. Meal was very good and would recommend to others they stop in. Bruce was our server and provided very good service. I had oil and vinegar with my salad. The tall slender containers that housed these was the most interesting containers-Bruce mentioned the owner go them in Denver. Most restaurants have very bland containers-these stood out and made an impression. Very good visual and the salad was fresh and very enjoyable. Overall good meal, fair value and good service-3 for 3 in my book!!

A great place to stop for a bite. We were passing through and needed a break, so we chose this place. The food exceeded expectations and the vibe was casual and comfortable, erring on the side of charming. We both got salads and were surprised by now fresh they were. Prices were good and the waitress let us linger as long as we wanted without making us feel like we had to vacate our table. Everyone was nice and it was a great respite from the road. I'll remember it for next time we make that drive! I consider it a landmark now.

We needed an easy, early dinner with two small kiddos before heading back to Denver and SO glad we checked it out. Small and cozy, we all got breakfast (served all day!). The panko French toast is amazing. I got it on the homemade cinnamon bread. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and deemed them good, but once we realized the owner is from Maine, my husband said- ahhhh Northeast sausage gravy, not southern! (This means nothing to me...). Anyway- the portions were big enough to share with our toddler. In addition, this is the first place outside of New England I have EVER seen haddock. I know everyone talks about the lobster roll here, but as a girl who grew up on the coast of New Hampshire, I will be back to try it! Service was great- one of the co-owners I think. Docking one star for being a family friendly spot, but no changing table in either rest room. My husband had to go out to the car to change our son.

I was lucky enough to eat here for breakfast on my birthday. I ordered the lobster Benedict. I think they need to rename it to be called heaven on a plate. It was delicious. The hollandaise sauce was delicious. LOTS of delicious, perfectly cooked lobster. The bacon was perfect... the atmosphere was awesome, the service was awesome... I love this little hole in the wall and it's worth the drive from Denver.

Been here a few times always for lunch. The food has always tasted good. I love the fresh made sandwich breads and house made corned beef. I really like to see restaurants make their own food instead of serving frozen, pre-made items from vendors. I would recommend the Santa Fe Turkey Sandwich or the Rueben. Onion rings and fries are good. A few things that keep me from giving a higher review. 1. Fish in the Fish and chips is frozen. I haven't tried it...might be the best frozen fish on the planet, but I'd rather eat mediocre hand battered fish over frozen any day. I would recommend the owner/chef prepare fresh cod and chips, a cornmeal battered catfish, or something unique, like bass or walleye. If not enough people order it to keep it fresh, then pull it off the menu. 2. Burgers are very small. 1/4 pound for $10 is lame. Bump it up to at least a 1/3# and keep the price the same. It will be a lot easier to cook a slightly thicker burger to order, too. The one time I ordered a burger, I asked for it medium-rare and it came out without any pink whatsoever. 3. Improve your service. One time I stopped in and one waitress was very busy waiting tables and another waitress was chatting with someone. I waited 5 minutes, other waitress still chatting, I left. I might not have been sitting in her area, but at least bring me some water and acknowledge me. It should be a team effort. Maybe this is the hit and miss service on other reviews. A House-made hamburger bun would have been nice, your other breads are good. Overall, I like this place, and I'll be back. I just hope it continues to improve.

Main Street Restaurant in Idaho Springs looks and feels exactly like you would expect a restaurant with said name to look like in an old mining town in the mountains. It is a quaint restaurant with large windows, dark wooden booths and exposed brick walls. What you may not expect to find are lobster benedicts and huevos rancheros on the breakfast menu. Beside some of the more frou frou items on the menu, more standard fare such as biscuits and gravy, a variety of omelettes, skillets and pancakes are on offer. Did I mention a huge chunk of these items are homemade? Speaking of homemade, in a pretty stellar move the MSR decided to bake their own breads, including (but not limited to) English muffins for the bennies, biscuits, jalapeno cheddar, French cinnamon, sourdough, whole wheat, banana nut and some others which I can't remember. My husband and I have been here several times before, so we knew what to expect out of the pancakes. I'll let you in on a little secret: they are huge. And good. They are huge, good pancakes and they are worth a try. I ordered the 'super skillet' this morning, which consists of scrambled eggs, green peppers, onions and fresh mushrooms. I felt rebellious and added tomatoes, also. I opted for home fries over hashbrowns, and French cinnamon toast. As a standard when given the choice I choose homefries over hashbrowns any day, with a bit of luck you will end up receiving something homemade which is hopefully equally crispy as gloriously creamy (in a potato, home fry kinda way). MSR potatoes qualify and fall into that category, and are well-seasoned, to boot. Where the homefries are seasoned just right, the actual skillet lacked flavor. I give them props for the usage of fresh ingredients, but what good does that do when you don't let them shine by adding appropriate seasoning? Luckily I spotted an interesting bottle which said 'Great balls on fire' by the Rocky Mountain Oyster Company based out of Idaho Springs. I doused this concoction on a portion of my scramble, and hot damn! Flavor! I ended up buying a bottle for $5. Cool move to offer this local hot sauce, people! Besides being huge, the pancakes are also quite tasty. You can add just about any topping/filling to them (even marshmallows.. mind is blown. Must. Try. Marshmallows), and trust me when I say you'll probably want to stick to ordering a 'short stack'. Unless of course you are so hungry you could eat a small child (babeh- get in mah belleh! ..name that movie..), then you may want to opt for 2 or 3 of these bad boys stacked atop eachother. Personally, I would burst- and that would not be a pretty sight.

I cannot say enough about how good their eggs Benedict was! My husband had one with chorizo and I had andouille sausage. Both were so flavorful and tasty! We went here for Mother's Day before all the crowds came, and although it was a little slow to get service, it was absolutely worth they wait! They were also very nice to give all the mothers complementary mimosas and a chocolate dipped strawberry. Thank you for the wonderful experience and food!

  • Kerry S.

Went there for dinner based on Yelp reviews-- very good! I feel like we needed three or four people instead of two people to eat all the delicious food. We tried their special Brazilian appetizer (yum), the club sandwich and fries, and the three piece fried chicken dinner which was SUPER crispy, came with a large dinner salad, mashed potatoes, homemade biscuit, and large fresh dinner salad. Large portions, tasty, and served automatically with interesting and tasty non-standard veggies (mine was sautéed kale). We will definitely go back! The breads were really good. Service was efficient and laid back - no one giving the corporate chain style welcome, it was small town style plain normal niceness. We will be back, maybe to try breakfast (served any time) too. The bathrooms were nice, big, and clean. My one negative comment would be that we sat by the front window, which was great until we noticed the dead flies and dust on the window sill. Wish they would clean and dust the window sills daily!!

Excellent New England style food, especially the lobster roll on traditional bun. Great breakfast options, several benedicts available, including lobstah. Amazing, fresh house baked bread daily. If I'm not in a rush or if there's stop n go traffic on I-70 between the front range and the mountains I always try to make a pit stop, though its usually just to get my lobster roll fix, which comes with a salad and a side, lots of meat, not much mayo, for just about $15.

We ended up here because beau jos was so busy... I'm not sure we will ever have pizza in Idaho Springs again. Green chili is delicious, all the breads are fresh baked and fantastic, and the charming small-town diner feel is comfy. Restaurant is clean and staff are kind and welcoming. A new family favorite.

The best breakfast spot I have ever been to! The Bloody Mary's were amazing, I had an Omelet and my boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy. So so good, I can't wait to go back and eat everything on the menu. The service was on point and very friendly. I can't speak high enough of this place! I am so grateful to call this place my local restaurant. They also bake their own bread!

I've been in the area for a month and tried all the breakfast places I can find, and this is hands down the best I've come across. Delicious egg dishes. The breakfast burrito is excellent. Fantastic biscuits and gravy. There is a tantalizing assortment of homemade breads to choose from every day. I love the jalapeno cheddar, and the rye is top notch. The coffee's good and the staff is warm and welcoming. Can't speak for other meals of the day, but the breakfast rocks.

A yelp review convinced us to stop at this rustic and cute restaurant for breakfast. Our server was cheerful and attentive. I constructed my three-egg omelet (chorizo, spinach & cheese). It was perfectly cooked, stuffed with fresh spinach and chorizo and steaming hot off the griddle. My husb ordered one plate-sized blueberry, walnut pancake that was excellent. So much food, we could not eat everything. Only item not great was coffee that could have been stronger. Highly recommend for well-prepared, fresh prepared breakfast.

Best breakfast in Clear Creek County - by far. Let's face it, the hardest thing to do in Idaho Springs is be consistent. Seems like a lot of places have trouble keeping help around for more than a little while and have different faces every time you visit. Main Street seems to have that problem solved - the service is always great and the food is even better. Even if the place is packed you should grab a table because they really take care of business. I love the Hash Benedict, my wife loves the omelets. I've had dozens of items off of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus and have never been disappointed, but breakfast is where Main Street really shines.

Main Street is a great place to mix all American fare with some Brazilian cuisine. The portions are generous and the quality is always top notch. Though they are probably more known for their breakfast, the lunch menu is very tasty as well so don't pass up the chance to give them a try. Finally for breakfast I have 2 words...Huevos Rancheros.

We wandered into here for lunch on a summer weekend. The food was great, I ordered a greek salad that was tasty and had great flavor. The wife ordered a burger and it too had great flavor and came out perfectly cooked. The service took a couple of minutes to get going as it was a seat yourself kind of ordeal but they didn't have a sign saying seat yourself and there was no hostess so that was a bit confusing off the bat. Other than that a great experience and it was packed for lunch while we were there. Definitely recommend!

We were delightfully surprised by how tasty our breakfasts were. Mine in particular was just stellar: a Greek omelet with 3 eggs, sauteed mushrooms and spinach, good quality feta cheese, Kalamata olives, and some minced tomatoes, topped with a balsamic reduction. I skipped the potatoes and bread and was still full for hours. My sister got the corned beef hash benedict. Never heard of such a thing before, but it featured "house made" corned beef hash that we all agreed was quite tasty. My mom got the regular benedict and found her poached eggs delightfully runny and the Hollandaise was nice and lemony. To top it off, they served a nice variety of Celestial Seasonings teas, including the elusive black teas (English Breakfast and Victorian Earl Grey) that my sister and I love the most. The server looked rather disheveled (charmingly so) but was fast and efficient. The decor is simple. The place is tiny. I bet it's mobbed for weekend brunch!

My brother and his wife, who live in Idaho Springs have brought me here 3 times, twice for breakfast and once for dinner. Every time the food has been off-the-hook amazing!! The staff in the evening was extremely friendly. The problem is the staff for the breakfast shift. The absolute worst I have ever experienced! I had to ask for everything.... silverware, coffee re-fill, S & P, syrup. Towards the end of the meal, the waitress begged me to pay so she wouldn't have to walk back to my table later! There were no smiles and they acted like they didn't want us to be there. I was made to feel very uncomfortable every time I interacted with the wait staff. I overheard the guy a couple tables over make the same complaint to his wife, saying he wasn't going to tip. My sister-in-law told me this kind of service is normal for breakfast. Absolutely pathetic! Too bad, because the food is out of this world..... absolutely delicious! I'll probably go back for dinner, but not breakfast time........

Wow!!!! Just Wow!!! The food here is unmatched for the area. The Jalapeño cheese bread turkey sandwich with pepper jack cheese and a smoked green chili is amazing!!!! Great atmosphere also. A must visit place.

Sooooo good. We stopped in Idaho springs on our way home from black hawk looking for breakfast and found some of the best we've had in a while. My husband loved the huevos benedict and the homemade cinnamon toast was wonderful! Friendly service and great atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Great experience. After eating out and around winter park we found this gem on our way back. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. The pancake is massive and DELICIOUS. Staff was great. Overall a wonderful dining experience.

Had breakfast here and was ecstatic to have the option of putting butterscotch chips in my pancakes as opposed to regular old chocolate chips. (Ew- the thought of choc chips is nauseating). I loved it! All members of my party were extremely pleased with their breakfast choices, and as usual we all tried each other's selections. Its a cute little place with a hometown feel. Highly recommend. I would love to go back and try more of the menu

Awesome food! Their chicken fried steak is so tender you don't need a knife. The crust on it is perfect and the white gravy is amazing. I come here just for that. Today I tried the Philly cheese steak. So good! The meat was so lean and tender. I'm a meat snob so if I find even a little something funky I'm done. This was perfect all the way through. The cheese was super melted and gooey. The green peppers, onions and mushrooms were cooked beautifully. The bun was too thick for the sandwich so I didn't eat it. Their sweet potato fries were great and the ranch dressing tasted homemade which in my opinion is always the sign of a good restaurant. I cannot wait to return to try something new again.

My friend and I were road trippin' and happily landed in Idaho Springs. Whilst on the road heading toward Idaho Springs late in the evening, I was already thinking of the next morning and where we may get a great start to our day... and I must say I couldn't have possibly found a better spot. We rolled in around 8:45am (great timing for this spot as it does get busy by 10am). We picked a perfect booth and were quickly served by a gracious and friendly young man who even more quickly endeared himself to me when he stated "Works for me." after I asked "Is it wrong if I ask for a bloody mary at 8:45am?". Truth be told, here is why I chose Main St. Restaurant yesterday morn. They have "lobster eggs benedict". Now, I will tell you that I am not easily swayed when you throw lobster at me. But there was something about their overall menu that is served all day that just struck me. They have Guinness braised corned beef (mouth watering), build your own omelette (yeah, throw $6 of lobster at just about anything) and a full bar... at 8am. BAM! Done. It didn't take me long to decide on: MAIN STREET BENEDICT* Two poached eggs served over Maine lobster and creamed spinach. Topped with hollandaise and served with home fries or hash browns $14.25 We were NOT disappointed. In fact, my friend and I enjoyed the leftovers for about 500 miles dipping into it twice over 6 hours. Perfectly poached eggs on homemade English Muffins slathered in a lobster infused hollandaise accompanied by several good chunks of sweet lobster meat. I must tell you that when my friend says "I can't figure out how to replicate their hollandaise sauce" THAT'S a compliment. Absolutely perfect. Wonderful friendly service, fabulous food, great location (read historic, quaint, warm), and simply memorable. If you are in Idaho Springs or anywhere near this lovely town (with incredibly friendly folks - hey JT) you absolutely MUST visit Main Street Restaurant. They are simply amazing!!! Thank you MSR for one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! Cheers, Stacey P.S. Bloody mary's thumbs up!

We were in a rush to the airport, and were looking for a place that still served breakfast late. (It was 11am). This place hit the spot! Staff was friendly, food was delicious.

Lovely toasty atmosphere after walking in out of the freezing mountain air. Great service, huge yummy portions. Maybe a little too huge. They bake their own bread and are attentive with the coffee. The pancake had a weird gassy taste to me, but we'd come back!

This is clearly a case of Yelp rigging: the service is glacial, we waited 45 minutes for our food (simple burgers and fries) and then it arrived all overcooked. Avoid this place. I'm sure there are other lovely restaurants you can support in this cute town.

Unless of course you are so hungry you could eat a small child (babeh- get in mah belleh! ..name that movie..), then you may want to opt for 2 or 3 of these bad boys stacked atop eachother. Personally, I would burst- and that would not be a pretty sight.

The restaurant itself is really cute. The food was great. I highly recommend the pancakes and the home fries. The people were super nice. I will definitely stop back in next time I'm in town.

Ripoff.

I have been on a decade long quest to find the best poached eggs. I have endured countless failures even sending the eggs back. The quest is over! Main Street Restaurant exceeded expectations. Truly the best Eggs Benedict ever! The corn beef hash is also out of this world!

We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant. Breakfast dishes - pancakes, meats, eggs and potato dishes were just as they should be. My surprise was having fantastic toasted banana bread with my sausage and egg breakfast! The hamburger my wife had was one of the best ever.

Worth it just for breakfast! Build your own pancakes and Cajun Benedict? The wait staff is extremely nice. The owner is from Maine so the blueberries and lobster are Main fresh. Yum!!!

Food was good but server was not. Asked what was good and she said she wished she had time to tell me. Place is small so give me a break. Wasn't slammed and all the other servers managed to talk bring me tea etc. Food is good just hope you didn't get her.

Outstanding! A local in Idaho Springs took me there for breakfast, and it was fantastic! The French toast was excellent, made of fresh, home-made bread. And the coffee is delicious. The waitress was friendly and the place had a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
